RE: What if i don't "Wait to Start " ??
Mine will crank right up if I dont wait,, which happens from time to time,,, I forget [:@]. One time it threw a code that said something about ambient temperature. I cleared it with my BD module and that was the end of it. Yesterday I jumped in and cranked it up without waiting, temp was like 45 F, it cranked right up, spit and sputtered for like three seconds and then that was it. I'm running the 2-cycle oil this tank, and that has made the engine run a little smoother and quieter also.

sometimes i forget also...oops...but it fires off everytime with no problems...question tho...how bad is it if the truck doesnt warm up completely between trips...say from work to school...its only a 10 minute drive for me twice a week. and the truck isnt warmed up...bad or no?

Main thing with deisel when running cold is piston damage. Pistons in diesels are forged aluminum which expand a lot quicker the the hyperutectic (sp) in gas engines. The pistons expand faster than the cylinders do causeing them to hang up (scoring). Also as drew said possible valvetrain damage. Mayfair, it will be harder on the starter because of the extended cranking (not really a problem if you have your truck plugged in)
