My buddy wants me to order a trans pan when I order mine. I thought it was going to be easy, but it's turning out to be a pain in the azz. He's got a 2003 Ram 2500 with a Hemi in it, but what's weird is that he's got a 5 speed trans. he said it's called a 45 RFE trans and it's supposidly a rare combo. Anybody ever heard of it before? If so, do you know which pan will work with it?

 

it's gunna be a 545RFE and it isnt rare, it is the same trans used in the 1500's

He thinks he's got something special. Wait till I tell him that not only isn't his trans special, but that it's actually a WEAKER trans than he thought he had he's gonna FLIP !!

Drew, are you familiar with this trans?

I just called Geno's to see if they could get a pan for his trans, and they basicaly told me "they don't know"? They said that if his trans pan is shaped like mine, then the 727 pan will fit. If it's not, then they don't have anything.

 

I dont know much about the 545RFE, but I did some lookingand found that a 45RFE DOES infact exist. I believe this would be the 4 speed counterpart to the 5speed 545RFE.

however I cannot find a deeper pan for it. still looking though
