It Will Run With...?

Like I said I have an almost unlimited supply and before I accept it I would just like to know if you could use a blend or just run straight and if anyone has tried mixing amounts of pump fuel and wvo.

I'm not trying to turn you off to it or discourage you, by all means have at it. I'm just trying to bring to light that there are going to be some hidden costs that may not make it as beneficial as it may seem.
Now, if you have a couple of bud's that are willing to split the costs and stuff, then yeah, it could get pretty good $$$ value out of it.
I was going to make bio-diesel but after making several batches I found it costs about $1 a gallon to make and it took WAY TOO MUCH TIME. Those guys that claim they are making it for $.50-$.75 a gallon are nuts. You might be able to make it for that if you buy chemicals by the rail road car load. But it still takes up the same amount of time. Not only do you have the time that it takes to make the stuff, you have the time and diesel you waste driving around to all of the restaurants to pick it up. You can't save on the time. Unless D2 petroleum diesel get over $6 a gallon, it isn't worth fooling with for me.
Plus if you plan on making it and selling ti to your friends for extra money. If you made 100 gallons, it would take 120 gallons of WVO and 15-20 hours and cost you $100 to make. If you sold it for $2 a gallon you'd make a whopping $100 profit for 15-20 hours of work.

how about i rephrase my question, in am emergency what can you run in your diesel with out destroying the engine?
surely something like 5 gallons of VVO run through your stock system to get you home wouldnt be too bad huh? or am i wrong?
and i was wondering what about the JP's? like JP-4, JP-7, JP-8 and the others? from the little bit i have read all the JP's are, are modified Kerosene so if you were stranded and all you had was 5 gallons of kerosene and 4 quarts of motor oil, could you use them to set you to a regular fuel station to fill up with Pump Diesel? or would it destroy your engine?

We've run JP8 in our Hummers, but we always had to put oil (no we didn't have 2-stroke)in with it. It smoked like hell and they had even less nuts than they do already.
I might run JP8 in a older, non-turbo'd engine (or one that I don't have to pay for [:-]), but these things are way too expensive and complicated to mess with.
Now, on the flip side; over in Asscrackistan I've put some sort of concoction of used motor oil and water and junk into our diesel Toyota Land Cruisers and Ford Everest's (diesel Explorer) and they ran okay. Again, not something I have to pay for.
In an emergency, it'll run on damn near anything except gas. It's just how big of an emergency will justify you destroying your engine.
I'm just wondering what anybody would be doing driving around with 5 gals of WVO or VVO for in the first place. You and the little lady plannin' on gettin' a little freaky or what?

In an emergency it would be much easier to get a gas can, a ride to the gas stationand buy 5 gallons of diesel than it would be to find 5 gallons of wvo.
If you did dump wvo or vvo in your fuel system, no matter what the cirumstances are, I'd make sure it was all burned out of the fuel system before stopping the engine long enough for it to get cold. Once it solidifies in your fuel system, you are SOL. No amount of petro diesel, PS or any other additive will clean it out.
