Default RE: question?

As long as neither of the clutches slipped, you would lose no hp.

Good luck with your ride.

Default RE: question?

I thought running an auto actually stole a couple hp. Is that not the case?

Default RE: question?

Automatics are only inefficient when they aren't in "lockup." Now days the torque converters lock in Overdrive. So, when rolling down the highway there is no difference between an auto and a manual. In town when the auto is not in lockup (some of the new electronic autos lock the torque converter even in town situations) is where the in-efficiency of an automatic comes into play. A good rule of thmub: 15% drivetrain loss for manual tranny, 20% some say 30% drivetrain loss for an auto.
