I'm new to the forum but can someone tell me what does remove the silencer ring on the turbo do and how does it help and how much also will it void the warrenty??
it is easy to pop out and back in if you need to... take off the intake tube and pry the c-clip out and the ring comes out with it. 10 min start to finish...
Taking it off, will itvoid warranty or possible damage (long or short term)? I seen the thread on how to take the Turbo Ring Silencer off. Anybody else here have done it?
It won't void anything. A lot of folks here have taken it off. All it does is quite the turbo down;something to do with smoothing out air flow I think.
as cumminalong said, just lets you hear the turbo sing.

exactly, when you remove it you are adding turbulance right infront of the vanes and this causes them to 'chop' that turbulance which makes it louder.
with my gutten intake and BHAF, I can make people roll up their windows just from me spooling up the turbo next to them
