My best quote today was $35K, for 2007 4x4, MSRP $42,795. I think that's pretty good, but I think I can get better. I'd like to get around $10K off MSRP. Any thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks!
Anyways, they gave me kelley blue book dealer value on my immaculant loaded 98 Lariat F150 with 75k miles, $6300. The KBB dealer retail on that was almost 10K (can't recall exactly). Private sale KBB was about $8500. For the new Ram I cut them a check of exactly $30,500 which was taxes, title, tags and all.
$42,600 - $9,300 = $33,300
So I got them down another $2800 on top of that but they made it back easily when they sold the F150 and then some. The extra $2200 I could have gotten from a private sale on my trade-in means that I really paid $32,700 so I came out $9,900 under sticker. Maybe some here have done better but I don't think that is too bad.
So $35K is too much. They can do a lot better. You are in the driver's seat so to speak. Don't rush anything. Let them sweat it and walk away if they don't give you the price you want. Dodge dealers are a dime a dozen and somebody will want to deal with you if these folks wont.

My sticker was 43+ on an 06 SLT 2500 Quad. I got it for around 31,500. I think they can do a little better. Offer then 31,500 or so. You might end up getting it for 32,300 or 32,500. If they play hardball, tell them you will sigh the deal right now for 31,500 + tax license, then walk out. I bet they give you a call. LOL. But really, don't pay any more than 32,700 or so.

Mr Slug after I posted that I noticed where ride everything has already pulled the trigger on an '05 CTD[&:] but the advice is still good for anyone else out there in the market. I still kick myself over the extra $500 on that check I cut. I should've said "no way 30K even or nothing" and probably would have gotten it but it was a long day and I was ready to get the heck outta there in my new ride
Also I missed out on a $500 rebate for Farm Bureau members (I'm not a member but it only costs $20 a year to become one). So maybe I paid $1000 too much? A person can drive theirself crazy thinking on the whatifs after doing a car deal[sm=scared09.gif]lol

Ride everything, you said you fell in love? Just don't let them see the want to in your eyes.
My 06 had a sticker of 40,320...wrote them a check for 31,500 they said no way.the sales manger found out and was knocking on the window as I was trying to leave.
No trade and got 4500 for the 94-2500-ctd-4x2 with 352,000 miles on it.
later tater

Just bought mine this past saturday (2-17). It's an 063500 QC Laramie 2WD CTD Auto. Sticker was 42,300 and I knew they were wanting to move the '06s. I didn't do a trade-in and I had financing already lined up, so I just negotiated out the door price. I ignored all questions about financing, payments, and garbage like that. I got there at 9 am, said I had a full day ahead of me and didn't want to spend all day there.
I asked for their best price up front, and they gave ne 36,500 +TTT. I said I needed to be at 30,000 out the door. They pretty much laughedsaid 'no way' so I said thank you, and walked out the door. The salesman ran after me and said, 'what about 35,000?' I politely said no and drove home. As I was pulling in my driveway, they called my cell. The sales manager offered 31,900. I said 31,500 out the door and he said ok. I drove back and signed. They even beat the finacing I had already lined up. All in all, it took about 2 hours.
I drove it all weekend and absolutely love it. Btw- It's my first dodge (was a Chevy guy), and this is my first post. Awesome truck, awesome forum!

All this talk on deals and prices makes me wonder if i got a smokin deal or got screwed. I just recently bought a 2004 Ram 3500 Laramie Crew Cab 4x4 diesel for $27,909(out the door). The truck has 85000 miles on it. It came with a Banks 6 gun w/PDA, AFE stage 2 CAI, 315/70/17 tires and a leveling kit. I traded in my truck which was a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 w/5.9 V8. I owed 13400 and got 14000 (no clue how but oh well). Just wondering if i should have held out for a lower price or can I assume I got a pretty good price on it? I've had the truck serviced and both the engine shop and tranny shop said the truck is in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically. You really can't tell the truck has 85000 miles on it. Looks like there was a 5th wheel on it as the braces are still attached to the truck. I had been looking at the 2006's here that were lowered to around 31k -32k but could not for the life of me get any dealer to get me one for 28k out the door (the limit of my loan).

This is by far one of the best threads I've come across since joining. Been with my 4.7 for about 6 months and I've come to the conclusion that it's time to upgrade. Looking for an '06 2500 QC 5.9. Found a few in town for just under 35K, but I'm from a small city in Wyoming and I've been able to find very similar trucks for around 30K. I'd like to get off the lot under 25K and after reading this, I don't think I'll have any problems. Great thread. And by the way (to all you guys that have your dream trucks) I'd just like to say I'm jealous!
