I'd be curious to see if the vibration from the engine was to ever work that valve open during driving. Seems like it could be snapped off while off roading, or in snow/ice conditions.

I had thought to say some thing along the line of, I do very much like Nipples but just not on a drain valve. But I was trying to be nice knowing that we do have a few women on this forum. Guess I can blame it on my parents and the way they raised me!

 

It is going to drain a little slower but you can do it hot because your hands are not going to be in the flow of the hot oil.

The nipple is just about a half of an inch below the axle and I sure you could find something to rip it out if you try hard enough, I can remove the nipple if needed , but I don't see the need I in Florida we don't have rocks, just sand and mud, so not much here to catch it on.

PS Dune I seen you pic's with the oil on your face, so I tilted my drain pan away from me, I guess I lucked out I didn't get any splash at all

 

I don't think that's a problem. I just put one on myself the other day. The lever is spring loaded and very tight. It's not going to open by itself.

As for offroading.... you're gonna have bigger problems if you hit the valve because that means you've hit the oil pan. I think it's high enough under the truck to where that shouldn't be a problem.

 

It's a double action lever.You hafta push up, and while doing so push down in order to open it. I honestly see no way for it to open itself.

Don't worry guys- I grew up with 2 older brothers [sm=boink3.gif]and no sisters. NOTHING offends me. Just makes me laugh!
And my boyfriend and his friends are mechanic/ construction workers (no offense guys).

Wouldn't recommend a hot OIL treatment to others. Picture did no justice (was caught off-guard)
