Default Who washes their engine?

I always washed off my engines in all my other vehicles. I haven't done this truck yet, and it's getting dirty. Do any of you wash your engine off? I don't remember it being covered in the owners manual. I wouldn't be power washing or anything like that. I just toss some soapy water on it and then rinse it off with a garden hose. Your opinions are appreciated.

I use soap and water and try to keep it clean , I may get over it but since sits nice and high I wash the trannyand the oil pan too, since we got to service it a little more than gas I want it nice to service and not look like I fell into a grease pit.

Besides it makes your neighbors think you have lost it and they don't ask you haul stuff for them.

simple green on just about everything, full strenght, then drive to a car wash and spray it down... leave the exhaust alone.

Engine degreaser works very nicely. Black magic's engine degreaser is the best one off the shelf. As far as cleaning the hard core grease, put on your googles and start spraying brake cleaner on the pan and tie rod ends and compressed air at the same time. That will blow off hard core grease.

I use S100. It's a motorcycle wash but it works so well andit's notharmful to paint that I started using it on all my vehicles engines. Well, except for the lil S10 (parts runner). It's a little pricey but it doesn't take much if you keep it up.

Just keep it away from the distributor and spark plug wires...
