Hello all,
I just got an F450, 4.88 gears 4 days ago. I have put about 500 miles on it. Today I noticed an oil leak coming from what looks like the front main seal. I'll keep all posted on how things go.
Thanks

WTF! More oil leaks. They didn't learn from last time I guess. Unbelieveable, all of this waiting for the best truck ever and it leaks oil with 500 miles on it. I also heard from another diesel stop guy who knows a guy who already blew up his 6.4 over the weekend. I have zero patients for something like this. International is going to continue to run Ford father in the ground with crap like this.

International or better known as INTERTRASHIONAL engines are crap. I work for an International truck dealership. We work on the big trucks of all types but especially Internationals. They have so many problems with their engines. The VT365 engine is very similiar to the 6.0 liter currently out and we have all kinds of what International calls updates. Everything from turbo rebuilds to rocker arm changes to even removing the transmission and changing the gears in the back of the motor just to make those hunk of junks run. International has even gone as far as to tell us that if the turbo is putting a little oil into the exhaust it is ok. Well that is the first sign that they have no clue what the heck they are doing. Well I will stop ranting for now. All I have to say is I feel sorry for these crazy people who buy this new 6.4 piece of junk because they think it is gonna be so good.

One problem I noticed on the 365's is that with only 8000 miles on the engine, the intake is restricted down to almost half of its original size. I'm wondering if the breather was routed externally if it would stop this. Looks like soot and oil mixing and sticking to the manifold. Haven't had the chance to talk to engine group yet on it. I got done duing the uptime repairs only to have the egr cooler blow out a day later. Also they only make exhaust manifold gaskets for 365's in buses. What the heck are you supposed to do when they are leaking? Shadow caster, Have you ever seen one with the p/s gears bomb shelled?Makes for a fun day. what dealer do you work for?

theres one thing i like about ford. well two. one the super duty trucks do look good specially these new ones. And two I love absolutely love the supercab. I'm not a huge fan of the quad cab because it's a bit big for what I like. I prefer to have either a regular cab short bed or having like what the super cab is a regualr cab with just ahalf door. It isn't enough to make me buy ford but they do have their pluses. Still Dodge is king

Wait guys, I know of one better. The manufacturer of the injectors for these things is having some "problems" they have a very large quatity of them back for rework. More to follow. This one might just kill Ford if they are not carefull.

My self I hate the square box look of the Ford, OK any box looking Truck. Around here now that GM/Chevy doing the same I hate to even go to town as it makes me [:'(][:'(] when I see them. I wonder if the same person or maybe the same family of the people from Honda draws up how the Ford and GM/Chevys look? Around here if it were not for the Dodge Neon all I'd have to look at is Ford and Chey[sm=rant.gif]

JAKEBRAKE...I work for Mauldin International in Palm Bay Florida. I have been a diesel mechanic for 8 years now. I know who is having problems and who isn't. I have worked for Cat, Freightliner and now International and various other mechanic shops. I will ask if any of the other guys have seen that problem with the p/s gears and let you know. What dealer do you work for?

Motor trucks here in wa. Pulled the p/s pump, no teeth on the gear, pulled the oil filter, had tons of metal. ended up swinging the engine.
