Default Brew vs. Injector cleaner

I am still having fuel mileage problems and as my truck isn't going in to the stealer for an ECM reflash till Wed.,I am still looking for answers.

If I am running Drews Brew, would I still need to occassionally put in some injector cleaner and would it help with mileage anyway?

I wouldn't think dirty injectors would cause a big fuel mileage problem (maybe 1-1.5miles per gallon max). They would cause a miss at idle.

one thing that skipped my mind. . .when was the last time you changed the fuel filter, and also what kind of pressure is the lift pump pushing to the CP3.

It's my first diesel so I am new to most of this.

I figured I would get better mileage out of a diesel over my gasser, but I am approaching what I got before I switched to this truck.

Maybe I am driving it wrong or expecting something different for the type of driving I am doing.

I changed the filter about 1 month ago. As for fuel pressure, how would I check that and what should it be?

realy you would just notice backfireing on the top end and low performance if there was a lift pump issue.

you can hook a fuel pressure gauge to the input of the CP3 from the fuel filter canister. this will give you the best indication of the performance of the lift pump.

When you say fuel pressure gauge do you mean the on board type of gauges?

I have also seen here stuff about rail pressure vs. pump pressure. Which is more important?

I wouldnt worry about rail pressure. . .lift pump is more important under stock conditions.

Drew could you post a picture of where to put the gauge to measure the pressure on the pump and what size gauge would be need.
