Besides, having some Fat A$$ loadmaster trying to use your rucksack loaded with ammo, 40mm grenades and all the other assorted crap enroute to Haiti, as step stool to get his Fat A$$ up on the center supports will definitely get your blood pressure up. It's funny to have to use little kid hand signals to someone to explain, "Hey tard!....step here......plane go BOOM!"
well...im headed to parris island on tuesday. the girlfriends brother is graduatin from boot camp. tourist speaking here.......anything special i might wanna do while down there? anything cool to see?
crazy kid: yeah, a bunch of insane people, they're called Marines... ;-)
cumminalong: state was short money so they "couldn't" afford the pay while I was there... or something, I really think someone just didn't file the paperwork and didn't have the heart to tell me...
I do know a ROTC Cadet who had Airborne orders prior to contracting as a cadet, contracted, was less than a week away, and then had the orders canceled because they didn't have a slot for an Airborne LT, (but they do for Airborne Privates...) so, that should tell you something...

As for the cadet, whenever you change a contract, everything else is null and void. It Abn wasn;t in his new contract, he lost out.

You know how it goes...........ride the strongest horse until that bad quits, dies or kicks you into the next county.
Believe me.........I know the feeling.
I have a young, motivated SPC that works for me that I'll put in charge of things before I put any one of2 SFC's and 9 SSG's in charge. But you know what, that kid goes to every school he wants, gets a pass whenever he asks, and kicks a$$ without being told.
Ask a few of my SSG's how many courses or schools, besides NCOES that they've been too. NOT A DAMN ONE..........until they step up to the plate.
I can see NO reason for bailing out of a perfectly good airplane, HOWEVER, if things are coming apart, I would have no problem getting out. So far, after about 5,000 hrs. of pilot time, over many many years, I have never had to make that decision. Thought I was going to get out a few times in the AF, but never quite needed to.
Back when I was in the AF, you had a 37 mm cannon shell under the ejection seat, and you often crushed your spine during ejection, I believe that about 20% of those that ejected were never cleared for "return to flight" status due to Spinal Inj.. One trick was to cut a piece of 1" thick STIFF foam board to fit the pilot seat, cover it in old AF Blue "flight suit" material and sneak it on the bird with your parachute/survial pack, and put it on the seat. In the event of ejection, the 1" of foam board had enough give to prevent spinal fractures. It was against AF Regs. though, so it was something that was done on the QT. Modern ejections systems are "Rocket" boosted, and don't crush the spine.
My Daughter was a sky diver for a few years, but gave it up after several close calls, that were due to the jump master screwing things up. I just have never had the urge. I stick to nice "SAFE" things such as driving dirt track Super Stockers. Never a scratch in more than 30 years.

Is that HD hat there to hide the wiring?
Nice job.
Is that HD hat there to hide the wiring?

Nice job.

Everything runs behind the pillar and behind the dash. I removed the backing plate that covers the hole where the clutch would be on a manual, got a 2" silicone grommet and ran the wires though there.
I HATE EXPOSED WIRES.[:@]
