So what is the timeline for the switch over to ULSD?

According to what I've read, the switch over date was supposed to be 15 Oct 2006. However, there are still stations around my area (Maryland/Virginia) that have LSD or at least the pumps are still labeled as such. Are the pumps not labeled correctly or are stations still allowed to sell LSD? Anyone have insight on this?

 

I do quite alot of travelling and when I fill up, I use the Flying J / Pilot etc.
they all still have the LSD.

 

#2 diesel is ULSD isn't it? I know the flying J in my area says #2 and ULSD on the pump. A lot of other stations around my area don't say either or so it's hard to tell what I am filling up with.

IIRC refineries can make LSD until 10/01/2010 and LSD can be sold until 12/01/2010.

 

I have seen both LSD and ULSD diesel sold in my area. Each stations pumps have a sticker that states whether or not the diesel is ULSD and if it's ok for 2007 and newer engines.
