Default Fuel delivery

What does the 2003 CTD use for fuel delivery. Is it the common rail like 04-05. If not what is it and is it reliable. Fixing to buy one this weekend. Found a good 2003 quad cab 4x4 with 53000 miles for 21000. Good price? Will check back tomorrow night or please e-mail me directly at carl00723@aol.com/ carl.wells@littlerock.af.mil

Default RE: Fuel delivery

The 03 Heavy Duty Rams use the common rail fuel system. There were two motors offered that year, one being a standard output with 250 horsepower and 460 torque and the high output option that had 305 horsepower and 555 torque. If I am not mistaken the standard output got the older slightly weaker 47RE automatic and the high output got the beefed up 48RE automatic. I think manuals came standard and automatics were optional. As far as the reliability goes I think they have been pretty good but I am sure someone else on here can speak about that since I do not own one yet. I hope this helps out a little. Jeff
