Default 6 Speed

Sometimes when I'm at a red light and I shift from neutral to 1st or 2nd, whichever I plan on pulling out from, or even when I shift into reverse from neutral I can't get the transmission into gear. I have to shift into another gear such as 3rd then back into neutral, let the clutch out and then it will slide right into 1st or 2nd. Does anyone else have this problem or know why it's doing it. My brother in law has an '05 Dually, 6 speed and it does the same thing.

I think this is pretty common. Mine will be harder to get into gear in the morning when the fluid is cold. I just let the clutch out then back in and it will go into gear fine, sometimes it takes twice. I think it is just the syncros are not lined up, when you let the clutch out and back in they spin and then get back into "sync".
