Just brought home my new (used) 2005 4x4 Quad Cab Diesel last night and CRAP!, our two car seats barely fit in the back. I didn't even think to check when I was at the dealer. I figured four doors, no problem. Man, by the time my kids, my wife, and all their stuff was in, the cab feels way cramped.
Coming from my 2006 F-150, it feels small. If I take it back, they'll charge me $500, but maybe it's not a bad price to pay. I'm just nervous now about a long family trip. Anyone else have the same issue? Talk me out of bringing this thing back 'cause I sure dig the truck!

 

Go back and see if they have a Mega cab for ya... There is alot more room and I think it would fit your needs better. Just a thought

 

I bought it used at a chevy dealer, maybe I'll go see what they got. I'm gonna pile everyone in right now and give it another go. I don't know if this is buyer's remorse, or I'm being picky.... I have 'till tomorrow so we'll see.

 

Well, I hope you have seen the video of the problems they are having with the "Duracrap" engine... You might end up with more problems than you are looking for if you walk off with a chevy. Again, just my point of view

 

Check your paperwork... in AZ you are required to sign a form that gives you 72 hours to take it back to the "Stealership" that sold it to you if you are not satisfied with the ride.

 

My ford bud's are always ragging me about the lack of room in the back seat of my 06 quad,after driving a regular cab 2500 for 12 years,this quad is a real treat to me.
How could they make a quad with an 8 ft bed any larger? Heck the thing is already 21 something ft long.
Like jag said may want to look at the mega cab,thats what I wanted,but it does not come with the 8 ft bed....good luck

I TOOK A TRIP TO MIAMI WITH 7 PEOPLE(NOT MEXICAN LOL) AND IT DID FEEL A BIT CRAMPED. MORE LIKE THE BACK SEATS BECAME UNCOMFORTABLE. THATS MY ONLY COMPLAINT.

 

I have 3 car seats in the rear and it isn that bad.
You bought a truck. not an SUV. remeber back in the day when a reg cab was the only thing offered?

the fords dont have "a ton" more room. they have maybe a little more. my buddy has a quad cab ford and there I dint notice a huge difference

 

Coming from a Ford Super Cab to my Dodge Quad Cab, the QC is much more comfortable. The seats are more reclined and you definitely have more leg room.

Now if you are talking about a Ford Crew Cab to a Dodge Quad Cab, that's apples and oranges. Obviously the Crew has more room. But compare it to a Mega and the Dodge wins hands down.

You could always get a Super Duty........and the ride is so damn rough that you'll never get the kids to sleep and they'll have bruised kidneys by the age of 2. My wife hated the ride of my SD. She likes this truck so much more. She's actually taking it today, down to FL. She would have NEVER taken my SD on that trip................................Is that necessarilly a good thing?

 

I have only one car seat in my truck and I have plenty of room. I can see how with two or more carseats and the kids legs and arms hang'n out how it might get a little cramped, but remember carseats go away after awhile the truck will out last them.
