Ok need some ideas on diy mods before I dip into the funds still gotta feed the kids you know

All ready got the CAI ,and I think someone stole my muffler [sm=confused06.gif](havent had time to look and see for sure) atleast that's what the people in the neighborhood have said. They may have taken my slilencer ring too!!!
Just want a little something I can do myself the most for the least...

Boost fooling???? (it's an auto some say yes some say no)
whats the deal with the timing advance mod ???????
and can the pumps be turned up with out a box????
