P1689, that should have been a P1683 (companion code, just means there is another code).

The P0216 is the injection pump. Not really any way around it, gunna have to put a new VP44 in, and possibly a lift pump. The injection pump is expensive, and the dealer is going to be REALLY expensive (unless you're under warranty still). I ordered my own pump at took it to a shop to put it in (would have done it myself, but it was just too cold a couple weeks ago), only cost $250 for the labor to put it in.

even though you may have gotten the P0216 code your VP44 may still be ok if it was not run for a long time without fuel. . .make sure you still have good pressure at the inlet to the VP44.

if you are still haveing issues you can get another VP44 pump from Industial Injection.

It went to the dealer tonight, they said it may still be under waranty, I told them to adjust the valves while it's there, i'll pay for that. I really hope it's still under warranty, i should know something tommorow. They also told me that since it was all stock, no computer upgrades, i was smart. But they also said that they don't go by autozones codes because their not right. I've been told that before.

Update, the pump is bad , found a guy local that rebuilds them, $1050 exchange, said it was easy to change myself, couldn't be at a worse time, bought a new motorcycle yesterday. Oh well life goes on, and it's only money , can't take it with you!!!
