Default oil pressure sensor/sender

well guys, my oilpressure gauge isnt working so I am going to replace the sender/sensor. Now the question is, where is the sensor located. I cant find it?....99 ram 2500 4x4 ctd auto quad cab........Dallas

an download the manual. it should give you everything you need to know as the motor you have was in production from '98 thru '02.

I'm not sure about the 24valves, however if the sending unit is anything like the one in the HPCR engines all it detects is 5-10psi max. what you see on the instrument cluster is a computer generated figure of what the pressure MAY be. the computer looks at engine RPM and figures up a best guess on what the pressure should be. so even though you see 40psi, you may only have 15psi. and it could be the transducer is working, the computer may have a brain fart and is not computating the proper value, or the actual dash gage is not working.

Does any body know where Oil Pressure Switch is located on 2008 Grand Caravan 3.8l Engine ?
