So I am driving home tonight. I am doing about 45 and all of a sudden I hear this thumping sound under my feet like 6 times. It goes away and I pull over and look. I have scratches from the chrome part of my front driver side fender to my nerf bar at the rear part of the fender. I go back up the road and there it lays, it was those little flags they put out to mark gas lines and whatnots. So I think Ah can't be that bad. Luckily all it did was scuffed the paint, I don't think it even broke the clear coat except 3 little places on the bottom of the fender. I am open for any suggestions as to the best way to remove these surface scuffs without damaging the paint.
Ask some local body shops about a 3M polish product. I will have to check the name on the bottle when I get home but it works for me. You can apply it by hand or a buffing wheel. Buffing wheel will yield the best results.
go to a auto paint store and get a light cut cleaner wax. it will take the scuffs out and leave a wax protection on it. 3m part # 39006, meguairs part # m0616
