I did it!!!
This last Sunday I picked up my new 2007 RAM 3500 Quad cab, Laramie, 4WD short bed, 5.9, auto with dealer installed exhaust brake,. This is my first Dodge, former Ford owner. I am very impressed with the Dodge.... I got 20+mpg driving it the 120 miles home from the dealership.
Folsom Dodge in Folsom, Ca was great to deal with, no haggle pricing and great inventory.
There is one cosmetic issue that I did not notice at delivery and am wondering if anyone has experienced this before. The rear sliding window outside black trim above and below the window has a protective film stuck on the trim. I assume it was put on during production to protect the finish. The film was not removed when the truck was prepared for delivery and I am attempting to remove it myself. The film material is so weathered it will not pull off and it looks like the only way to remove it is to scrape it off. Any suggestions for removing this film material without damaging the finish?..
Thanks

Way to go! For the film, try a local body shop, they have and "eraser" that should take that off. I'm not sure about the 07's but the overhead trip computer (LIE-O-METER) are known to off quite a bit. Hand calculate your mileage for the real MPG. Enjoy your new truck!
Thanks for the info on the film eraser.... Now you about the Lie-O- Meter...Wow you burst my bubble on this one. I will have to hand calculate and see what I am getting. My wife has a 04 Tahoe and it seems to be right on the money. Anyhow, compared to my 92 Ford F250 with the 460ci gas and 4;10 rear end my 07 3500 should be getting better mileage... Thanks again and I'm honored to be a Dodge owner...
The LIE-O-METER is usually off by 1.5 -2 MPG in my truck. But hey if that is the case for yours you still got 18 MPG on a brand new truck. Mine started out getting 14, and now is pretty regular in the 19 range. After you get 500 miles on her, hook up to some heavy weight and pull it, you will see you mileage go up afterwards. Congrats on the new ride, I am also a former Ford guy. Welcome!
