Default Disableing Park alarm

Well the dealer says this is a new safety device so they can not disable it! Has anyone had this annoying (imho) feature disabled? If so where or how?

the only way to do it would be to put a kill switch on the horn somehow.

Ok I think I got a plan, how about wiring in a normally closed relay in the horn circuit triggered by the back up light circuit? This way when you put it in reverse your horn will be disabled but will work normally the rest of the time.

I had my truck in to the stealership for a computer reflash for mileage problems.
While it was in, I specifically told them that I didn't want the out of park program installed.
They said no problem and even told me it had been removed before I bought it.

So it depends on which stealership you go to, some are better about giving you what you want than others. If they tell you they can't remove it I think they are blowin' smoke.

For those that have had this recall done (and don't like it), go to the NHTSA website and file a complaint. I talked to the investigator that did the investigation on the original complaints. He said that NHTSA was not happy with Chrysler's choice of "remedy", but unfortunately there was nothing they could do without going to years of litigation. But, he said that if enough complaints about the remedy keep coming in, they can push Chrysler to address the complaints with an alternate solution.
