Default Computers?

i was wondering, i know some people have had to get "re-flashes" and everyone has performance programmers and all but when did Dodges with Cummins in them get ECUs? i am sure that there was a time when it was a non computer controlled engine, but when?

The mechanically controlled 12v's were first put in the Dodge trucks in '89. As stated above, DC started using the 24v's in '98.5.
