Default SRT10 RC - 2005 Gas Question

New to the group and just purchase a 2005 SRT10 RC with only 6k miles.

as most of you know Prem. Gas is very high and yes I knew this when I bought it. The dealer indicated an a tank of mid-grade once in awhile would not hurt the engine.

Is that sound advice or should I stick with Prem always.

thanks
Mike

Is the premium gas were you live 91octane or 93octane? If its 93 then to save a few bucks every week you could, say you were almost empty you could ask for $25 of mid grade then $25 of premium so that you would be running 91octane which is perfectly fine for your truck.

Use premium. If you are that concerned about gas costs you should have NEVER bought the truck. It drinks gas like a fisherman drinks beer on a hot summer day

Look at it this way, say you are completly empty. You fill up with premium, which is only .10 more than midgrade. It costs you $2.60 more to get premium over midgrade. Fill up once a week that is about $150 a year. It is well worth it.

thanks for the info, not real concern, I was just wondering if what the dealer said was of any value about the gas.

not doing any mods to it except taking off the wing and putting a trunk lid on it. didnt want to attach wing to lid.

Otherwise its an awlsome truck....
