Yo guys i hope all is well with you i loved this forum and im getting my srt-10 soon, i got some questions i have a 04 rumble bee and i wanna trade it with a srt-10, the dealer agreed to trade in with a used srt-10 04 red with 1500 miles and i add $21000 for the used one or should i add $27000 for a new 05. I was scared to get the deal on the used one cause when i checked on carfax it was titled then bought on an auction any of u guys have an idea and will the $27000 be worth trading an 04 rumble bee 9000 miles and some mods. I live in south florida i would appreciate any help from u guys. What are the pros and cons of the srt-10 thanks guys
You're gonna like the SRT no matter which one you get. If it was me, I'd go for the new '05. There is value to me in knowing exactly how the truck has been treated and maintained. Also, there were some problems on the '04s that have been addressed in the '05s. These include such things as the thermal shield for the clutch fluid line coming out of the slave cylinder, some weatherstripping noise, and, the biggest of all, the '05s have 4:56 gears instead of the 4:10s. A lot of '04 owners are having the rear ends swapped out for the lower gears. These things may have already been fixed on the '04 you're interested in but you ought to check into it.
The pros of driving an SRT-10? Where do I start? I build and restore old musclecars and factory racecars and this truck is as much fun as I've had behind the wheel - ever! It's a true all around performance vehicle with some serious attitude. You can kick butt at the drag strip, intimidate on the street, run over 155 mph at top speed events, rip up an autocross course, cruise with 500 watts blasting, and, haul potting soil or drywall.
The cons? You'll definitely go through some fuel but if that's an issue, this isn't the truck for you. The biggest con is probably that your face muscles are gonna be sore from all the grinning you'll be doing.
Good luck!
