I am starting to hate my Ram SRT-10
Sorry but I am really mad that my high dollar truck vibrates and they cant figure out the reason for it.
The dealer did the force ballence and replaced two tires and did vibration tests but it still points to the tires as the cause. Out of desperation they are going to replace the drive shaft.
What really ticks me off is I am sure it is the Pirilli tires that are the problem and of course Dodge wont take responcibility on that issue. My point is I didnt ask to have those tires, Dodge made that choice and we pay for it.
Someone is going to get hurt with those tires and it will get ugly. Just like Ford. Also, no telling what the vibrationis doing to the intergrety of the truck too. I have an 86 Ford F150 4x4 that rides better than this piece of crap.
Thanks for the venting...

I'd take it to a Pirelli tire shop. In years past there was trouble with brand new Good Year tires designed just for the 300M. My Father fought with the Good Year guys until they order 8 tires just to get a good set of 4. Take it to Pirelli, make sure the shop has a road force balancer, they can start ordering tires until they get it right.
Thanks for the responces on my problem. I will let you all know what happens with it.

Pirelli tires are great tires. The problem is they were never really designed for the 20+ rim size. Now, yes I know they make them for that size and larger. What I am getting at is the tire itself isnt really up to the type of power/driving that the SRT-10 puts down. Bottom line, look into some other tires.......
Most tires that are sold on the street in the 20+ sizes arent designed with performance vehicles in mind......they are designed for normal driving blah blah blah blah...you get the point...
Mind you, I am only referring to TRUCK tires

How did they determine that the tires are the cause? Did you change to other wheels/tires to test? Just curious.
DevilsReject,
Actually, Yellowfvr'ds experience is the exception, not the rule. The Pirellis work great on about 99% of the trucks. The lateral grip is very good. The traction isn't even too bad considering the torque they are trying to hook up. Overall all they hold up pretty well. However, they ran KDW2s at the SRT Track Experience and I was impressed. They looked great and performed even better. I'll be getting a set when the Pirellis wear out.
