Picked Up my SRT w/STS Turbo
Picked up my truck Tuesday evening and have been having a blast ever since! The baseline dyno was 418 rwhp and 438 lbs of rwtq. At 5 lbs of boost through the stock exhaust manifolds and four stock cats it pulled 548 rwhp and 592 lbs of rwtq. Next week they finish the methanol and two stage boost installation and we'll re-dyno it. With 8 lbs and methanol injection, they are guessing another 60 to 75 rwhp. I'm really excited at how flat the torque curve is. I'm getting 450 ft/lbs at only 2,200 rpms and am at 500 ft/lbs by 2,500 rpms. It stays at or above 500 all the way through 5,500 rpms. Horsepower stays around 500 hp or above from 4,500 past 5,500 rpms. Lots of usable power and believe me, it feels like it. This thing flies!
The turbo sounds awesome. It sounds like I have a Pratt and Whitney jet engine strapped on the truck somewhere. I had people actually roliing down their windows in traffic to listen to the engine sounds. Some of them yelled through the noise, "That thing got a turbo? Cool!"
At 5 lbs it's extremely well mannered on the street. Very drivable even in stop and go traffic. I'll post some video by tomorrow if not later today.
To sum it all up, YEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAW!!!!!!!!!

Warranty on the drivetrain is gone but everything else is still covered. Performance parts are almost always harder on the engine and will most likely reduce engine life. Hopefully we've been conservative enough on the tune at 5#s of boost that it shouldn't be too much more of a strain on things. I'm expecting this engine to run strong for a long, long time.
