The 2006 Dakota RT will most likely have the Magnum 5.9L V8 with 250 horsepower 345 lb ft of torque @ 3,200 rpm. I doubt that Dodge would put the Hemi in the Dakota. Your best bet would be with the 8.3L SRT-10 Ram.

i dont think theyre bringing back the 5.9, its a lil out dated and thats the same power it had when the put it away in 02-03, why bring back an engine that they pu away a few years ago, with the same specs

The largest Dodge Dakota engine is the Magnum 5.9 ltr V8 250 horsepower 345 lb ft of torque @ 3,200 rpm. The Dodge Dakota best in class seating for 6 with the 40 / 20 / 40 splitbench front seat available on the 2006 Dakota Quad Cab and Club Cab, also, leather trimmed or cloth seating surfaces and rear split bench folding seats on Dodge Dakota Quad Cab.
thats the same power it had when the put it away in 02-03

Well, considering I've seen a V10 in a Dakota personally.....and I read the article on Rad Rides Hemi Dakota.....I know the truck is capable of having those engines dropped into it.
That said, I would like to see a 325HP engine in the Dakota.....it needs some serious gitupngo....
If they can slap the V10 in the Dodge Sidewinder concept....which really wasnt all that big.....I definitely know they can slap a V8 Hemi in the Dakota...
