Details! Details! What's the life of a stock clutch? What's your driving habits. Ditto on the warranty coverage.

even the clutch?!
I actaully never planned on putting the factory back in. I ordered a Centerforce clutch, light weight flywheel and upgraded master and slave cylinders, it is a kit from Roe. My plan was to have the dealer install under the warranty, but as it turns out the clutch is not part of the 3/36, only the 1/12. So I guess I will either have to install myself or pay to have it installed.

As for deatils, well, I only driven the truck 400 miles. most of which was a drive home from TN on the highway. So the damage was really the previous owners fault. I went to put a couple black marks in front of my cousins house (I put two big sets in front o fmy uncles so he ants a set, 1st and 2nd gear) and instead of smoke coming from the tires smoke came from under the truck, along with a bad burning smell. I knew rigth away it was the clutch. Talking with other owners many of them have also lost the stock clutch. It is still drivable, just can not apply any power. I am sort of in a hurry to get it done now, I bet it was slipping a little everytime I jumped on it, so I was not getting all my HP and Torque to the tires

Ya, I was going to post that the clutch is only a 12mo. warranty....to many variables outside of the mfgrs control.

I bet a Neon clutch is covered on a 3/36...... If that is the case (I do not know for sure) variables has nothing to do with it, the 525 ft/lb of Torque, 5000+ lbs of the truck and DC knowing the clutch may not be able to hold up in these conditions is the reason they put it on a 1/12.....

in my experience while working as a mechanic, the clutch is very rarely covered, even on lower end vehicles..because if you put someone in a mtx car who doesnt know how to drive it, they can ruin it over and over...[&:]

do you have plans to mod it beyond the clutch?

Maybe, it is going to get headers, mid pipes (not sure if high flow cats or no cats) and a Magna flow. This is happening this winter.

The following winter I MIGHT go with a supercharger or TT setup.
