Default 2006 SRT KandN cold air DOESN'T FIT!!!

just got my KandN cold air (part # 63-1107) for my 2006 QC SRT-10 and it does not fit. I was wondering why the 2004-2005 and 2006 were all the same part number since the 2006 has the new front end. Well I assumed KandN new what they were doing and ordered it. After messing with it for almost 2 hours I realized that trying to fit this item in the 2006 DOES NOT WORK!!!!! SOOOOOOO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey i am actually in the process of installing my K&N right now. Just taking a lunch break. Where does it not fit? I am not done with mine but i am to a point where i dont think i will run into problems with the fit. Post some pics of how it doesnt fit maybe we can help. I have a 2005, but i cant imagine even with different front end that the CAI Fit would be different. My part number is different from yours though. Did you get the Gen II FIPK or did you get a aircharger? Mine is the Gen II Fipk.

After getting some good advice today I think it will work with some small mods. The alternator bolt is to large to fit threw the provided mounting bracket, there is a electrical box on the back side of the upper air box mount that the 2005 does not have that I will have to figure out hwo to mount. And once I take off the upper air box mount there will be only 4 screws left to mount the inner wheel well (unlike the 2005 you only have to leave out 1 screw. Just little things like that, that are making the install a pain, but still do able. I assume you got your installed, how do you like it?

Just finished mine finally tonight. In all i would say it took about 3 hours to install but i am not very good under the hood. But everything went great, love the k&N and couldnt be happier. Usually on past cars i never noticed a difference when installing a CAI but i actually felt a little something on this truck. Fun stuff, just need to get my exhaust and mids here now. Should be here friday

Stick with trying to get that k&N in. They have good customer service and should work with you so give them a call and let them help. That is the good thing about k&N, Trusted company and Fair service
