Default check engine light

I have a 05 RC srt-10. The check engine light is on and the code is showing "cam angle sensor." I haven't had a chance to take to a dealership yet so I was wondering if anyone else has seen this and is it affecting the performance of the engine? It seems to run fine but I haven't had the truck long enough to really know for sure (performance wise.) Any info would be helpful. I'm headed to a local dealership soon however. Is this common?

Do you have an 04 ? Could be related to the recall on the cam sensor. If not could be a TSB, can always take it in to the dealer and get the new flash under warranty.

The truck is a 05' model and I finally took it to the dealership. The cam angle sensor was replaced and the mechanic reported that it was damaged at the factory during installation. They did not report what kind of damage but they obviously were reporting back to the engineering staff for Chrylser-Dodge. They stayed on the phone with them longer than they spent working on my truck. By the way, after changing the sensor, I did not notice any difference in the way the engine performed. Just wanted to let everyone know what the outcome was in case somebody had the same condition with their truck.
