Default HP questions

First time to this site and its great. I just bought a 2006 Ram SRT10 this week. It should be delivered to me the first week of February. In Cleveland that means it is going to sit covered up for a few more months!!! I was wondering if you guys could tell me some approximate HP gains with a Volant Air Intake, Headers and exhaust? Is it worth it? Are there noticable improvements? If so what brand of headers are preferred as well as what exhaust? Are there brands I should stay away from? You guys are the experts and I'm the new guy so let me know. Anybody in the Cleveland Ohio area? Thanks!!!

I wouldsuggest this ---> https://dodgeforum.com/m_579067/tm.htm Some have reported 40+RWHP with this upgrade. I did not dyno, but it sounds MUCH better and does pull harder. Not sure if you have to get emmission tests in Cleveland, Toledo you do not Last I heard Magnaflow had yet to put out a 06 version yet, but the only difference is the placement of the hangers.

As for the intake, mixed reviews on the Volant. Some love it, others wish they bought a drop in K&N.

If you bought a QC get a PCM flash.

If you are ever in the area and want to hear the exhaust let me know, the truck is in storage in Monroe, MI until April 1st, but we could go up there if needed.

I'm a new owner myself in Lakewood. The winter's actually been so mild so far, most days I have been driving the truck to work downtown and back.

My mods (in sig) when donewill beworth about 40 HP. Good headers (longtubes) canmaybe get you another 10-15 but I don't want the extra heat and valvetrain noise under the hood.

I am also hoping to have an extra set of factory exhaust manifolds ported, extrude honed and coated, and bolt those on in the Spring.

CAI's upgrades on the Ram SRT-10's are the most controversial mod out there. Dont expect much peak HP gain, it does improve the overall sound and can dress up the engine bay (depending on your preferences)

If you are just interested in HP gains, then a drop in filter is the best route for the $.

LT headers, mids with HF cats and a catback is worth 40-50rwhp. The truck sounds like crap with the stock exhaust, at least doing a catback will give you 15-18rwhp and improve the overall sound

Like 94rt10ohio mentioned, if you have a QC, then a stage 2 PCM flash would be the highest on my mod list.

Hey hunter_angler I used to work for the Lakewood Fire Department and my brother and sister in-law live there! I live on the east side and work for the Lyndhurst Fire Department now! I also hunt and fish and could show you some great pics from my trailcam. Nice to meet you, I'm sure we could meet up sometime this summer, maybe at a cruise or something.

yepp, the only best way to gain hp is drop in cold air intake, im thinking for myself to get me a volant cold air intake for my '04 RC Srt10. I found out that it will bring 40hp more and cost only $440, which is not bad for me plus it look badass on ram srt10. the way i look at K&N intake, it look ok ok and only bring 19hp more on truck. more and MORE horsepower is goooood.....

You will not even get close to 40HP with a Volant.

The worst mod you could do for the money...... there is NO gain! Two/Ponies is NOT a gain! imo
I have yet to put headers on...she's putting down 641/rwhp on pump-gas 91/octane.
Long Tube headers are the best for performance. They are not legal in all the states.
The MagnaFlow are sounding pretty good. I don't have any cats on her...SWEET!

She's in there somewhere....
