Default put in B&M shifter now trouble

bought B&M shifter let my mech. install it, my hurst allways had slight whine but let slide, now as soon as left shop B&M really let whine or cruching rock sound come through, so went back mech. called B&M and they say factory shift had more insulation than B&M , but noise is loud for 06 with 800 miles, now they say i should take back to dealer, but i have mods. like volant, exhaust, and now shifter , now B&M say does not void warrenty, but any way the noise only happens when i accel. and go thru gears, when i'm just cruising, it's o.k. and people say its normal !? i can sit in truck when not running and shifter smooth as butter and driving it shifts firm and short but can noise be normal? should take chance and go to dealer? take loss and pay to have hurst put back in, i really don't know what to do, so any help or advice would be helpful, oh well thanks for your advice.

More than likely you are just hearing typical gear whine. Aftermarket shifters are quite a bit louder than the stocker. You can use some shrink wrap to reduce the harmonics but otherwise its a tradeoff for a performance shifter.

If you decide to sell the B&M and cut me a deal I may be interested.

Basically it all comes down to what you want....do you want to miss thrid? Then stay stock.
There are trade-off's. Making thrid under full throttle with a little noise is just fine with me.
Remember, you do have a 500/watt sound system in there next to you...........
