Default Newby in UK

Hi All,
Firstly, what a great site.
I will try to keep everything as short as possible.....Here Goes.

I live in the UK and am looking to buy a 2006 Ram SRT-10 and ship it over...

Q1...There are UK Dodge dealers here.. would they recognise the Warranty ( had no luck speaking to them )
Q2...Can I ( or has anyone ) fitted a5th wheel hitch to an SRT (wife is disabled, am also looking to fit a Bruno Turny Orbit Rotating Passenger Seat so she can get in ) we can then tour Europe in style and have lots of fun when the truck is unhitched....( German Nurburgring etc etc )
Q3...Anyone know of good honest dealers ( my life savings are going into this project ) around the New York Area as East coast ports are nearer to the UK
Q4...Is it possible for me not to pay the sales tax as the car will be exported ( have been looking on some internet sites Autoguide.com etc - does the window sticker price always include the sales tax )

Your comments would be greatly appreciated

Stuart

Welcome to the board!

You might want to call Woodhouse Dodge. They will ship your SRT-10 to anywhere in the world!
You'll have to call DC and tell them that your Truck is not going to be in the United States and DC will transfer your warranty to the country of your choice. You have to do this before you leave with the Truck. Woodhouse will be able to take care of you.

Quick
p/s: sales tax is NEVER included!

You mentioned a 5th wheel, how much weight do you plan to pull? It sort of tells me you want to pull a house trailer, which will not work with the SRT, to much weight.

Thanks for the info - any help is very much appreciated

Need to pull a 28 - 30' toy hauler...which will be carrying the wifes off road wheelchair / normal wheelchair etc etc

As a matter of interest what is the max weight I can pull with the SRT bearing in mind i'm going for the Quad Cab Auto

Sorry to burst your bubble Stu, but it is not intended to pull.

This is from the 2004 owners manual

"DO NOT tow a trailer with Dodge Ram SRT-10 models."

With that said it is a RC that states this. A QC they say you can pull 4500lbs. But you better not even think of hitting it unless you want a new tranny.

Thanks for the info once again......

Another dream shattered.....but at least it won't be a costly one....looks like I'll be looking for a different truck

Maybe one day I'll be able to buy one for just a bit of fun - but for now getting the right truck to pull a 5th wheel is the utmost priority.

The comments posted were a great help....many thanks

Stu

Stu Buy the 25004X2 cummings QC, have the Sport modelbody kit installed (With the paintedbumpers) , then call Banks performance and get the power you want.
The local speed shop owner did that. He beat a 93 mustang GT on the hwy towing his 26" car hauler, He was running 34Lbs of boost
sick
It would cost you slightly more than the SRT-10

Hi Stu,
I imported my old Dodge Ram Hemi into the UK a couple of years ago. I can tell you that UK dealers will not honour any warranty on a grey import from the USA. You shouldn't have to paysales tax if the vehicle is to be immediately exported from the USA. Full size trucks are classed as commercial vehicles in the UK, soyou will have to pay 20% import duty, instead of the usual 10, as well as 17.5% VAT. You can find out more on this very useful car import forum. http://users.boardnation.com/~import-car
