Default Got myself a great deal

Hello, this is my first van and I'm having a blast with it. It's a '90 B250 shorty with 3.9L V6 and 3 speed auto tranny. It's fairly decent on gas for such a large vehicle (17-18 MPG city/21-22MPG Highway). It has 60,000 original KM's and I got it for 2000$ which I talked down from 3500$. The interior is a home-brew custom with a camper window installed but I will be ripping off all the brown crushed velour and replacing it with a green velvet typre fabric. I have already purchased and installed a bench/bed that I got from the pick-n-pull for 30 bucks.

That must be a southern Ram Van since those up this way are really rusted and go for a mere $600 on a good day.

Since fuel prices have been hoovering near $3 for some time, Ram Vans have deep discounts on lots and private sales. You could almost name your price to pick them up for a small song.

Our 2000 Primetime Ram Van conversion with the 3.9L V6 fetched only a mere $3,600 this year. Blue book, it lists for $8,000! BUT, when we bouth it at the begining of this fuel crunch, we paid only $5,400 for it. Not bad considering time we owned it.

It seems that you did get a fair deal at $2,000 seeing that the body is in great shape and has a minimal rear interior. The 1990 will do alright for fuel since it has a TB vs. the carb. 1998 and better offers the best fuel economy and Hp overall.

The rear bumper is ideal for having a lower tow hitch put onto the rear frame. The step bumper version can't do that. The tow rating for that V6 engine and rear suspension is about 3,500lbs. Better if the Road Master Active Suspension kit is added. It may peak at 4,000lbs for towing capacity.

Enjoy your new found treasure. It looks very good on the outside.

If it wasnt peeled off, try popping the hood and looking for the vehicle options list, it should be on the drivers side. It will list any special features like an enhanced alternator or highway packages. The stock bumpers were ordered, though the running boards would be listed. As Stev says it looks great. I agree that this baby was either well cared for or the owner is a bondo sculpting king with a factory paint shop
