Inches and centimeters?
Hello!
I just bought a dirtbike and now I need a van for transportation, and I just found a -95 Dodge Ram Van 1500 Magnum, the short version. Whitch I believe comes with the 318 ?
With about 43000 miles, is this a good purchase?
I live in Sweden and these vans are rare, I havent actually seen it yet. Just the ad.
So my question is how my dirtbike will fit thrue the back door?
Need to know how much space it is between the floor and the roof at the door opening, and also inside the van which should be slightly moore.
Anyone out there who knows?
Hooping to be a Vanman soon!

I just measured my '89 doorway height. which I believe has the same dimension opening as a '95 but am not sure. It is definitly close.
I come out with just under 47 inches or about 119.38 cm for you metric minded folk.
I cant help you with interior height as mine is a conversion van with a higher fiberglass roof, I will guess it's about 7.5 cms higher than the doorway.Tthe floor is flat and flush with the door opening.
I see people overhere with trailer hitches which carry a yz 426 side to side nicely. Tarp and a padlock if weather and thieves are a concern.

I have seen late 80's vans converted to haul 2 motorcycles inside. Dont forget you may be able to lean the bike over to get it though and then stand it up. I seem to remember the center of the roof on my 87 was about 4"-6" taller than the doorway all the way across.the short wheelbase is 109" and should (like a pickup) take a sheet of plywood so that implies 4' between the wheel wells and 8' to the back of the seats.
The van doorway has always been basicly square. I dont know how hard it is with your bike, but you may be able to dismount the front wheel that would lower the handlebars enough to get it in if it not close enough in the correct direction since the seat is probably lower than the handlebars. Then just weld in a bar to clamp the front forks into to keep the bike from shifting around - an old axle would work great.
