Default Heater speed control

So I Get to work this morning and shut off the heater. Then tonight I get in and after the van warms up I turn on the heat, only to have high speed working. What went bad is it the blower resister on the heater box or possibly the switch?
Thanks,
Tracy

More likely it's the resistor. It's only available at the dealer and goes for about $12-$15.

I get my blower resistors from O'Reilly auto. It is a bosch part and has a lifetime warranty. So when it goes out again I just ride up and get another. Good luck with it.

Would that be the same if the rear is working but the front is not working on any speed? I can feel "some" heat coming up but it's just not blowing. Not sure if it is a resister or a blower motor? Any ideas?

If it was just the resistor then you would have off and high speed only. If you have nothing, even on high, then it's more likely the blower motor that is shot or a blown fuse. The best way to check it is to see if there is power at the blower motor plug when the blower and ignitions switches are on.

Where is the resistor block on a '97 Ram Conversion Van? I only get high speed on tehfan and nothing at the three lower speeds. I just replace one in my '02 dakota andall is well, so I figure that is also the problem here. I just don't know where it is located.

TIA!!

Bob

It's mounted on that big black box under the hood on the passenger side.

As Alloro said, look on the side of that box closest to the radiator and motor. It will have a 4 wire connector plugged into it. Just unplug the connector and remove two screw/bolts and install the new. Takes less than maybe 3 minutes.

Is it ok to ask where that resistor would be located on a 2001 B2500 normal van?? Just got mine and I think I have the same problem. I can only here/feel any air movement when it is on high. The passenger blower/switch does the same. Are there two resistors?? Thanks
