charging problem 85 dodge b150 318
if you havent found the diagnostic plug, it may be hanging down below the battery, the 85 uses ELB for the computer, it does sound like you my have dropped a fusable link, they are all located behind the brake booster, so carefully work those cables out to where you can see them The fuseables are not usually wrapped up in the tape, but are tied to the outside of the mass you will see one cable about 3/8" thick going into a rubber block with 4 or 5 wires coming out of it. Those are the fusables. If you are lucky, the break will be close to the middle so you can splice in in a repair wire. replacement fusable links are avalible from most parts stores in the electrical wire section. Since you have a Haynes manual, you will want to use the wireing chart for an '83 in the back for the full breakout of everything. The '85 diagrams only list the areas that are different from the '83 diagram. Some vehicles dont have the same color code so make sure you are looking at what you think you are when you are checking.

hello
...yes alloro you do rock, just replaced the fuse link with a fuse line with new style 20 amp fuse, she fired up like a champ, as for my charging problem, she reads 14.7-14.8volts, when checking voltswith my old sperry volts meter that i have in the garage, i decided to use myother sperry volts meter that i keep in the truck with my tools and what do i get, 14.1-14.3 volts, to conclude, i think my old volts meter is not accurate and it show higher reading by .4 -.5 volts, when i turn on the lights it gos to 13.5volts, all thisbecause of abadold volts meter, once again thanks for all the great information that i received from you guys...

I have PMs turned off. Too many people were PMing me and asking questions instead of posting in the forums. To me this defeats the purpose of a forum where others can read up on problems similar to their own, and others can give the benefit of their experiences.
Great! I've been trying to update/crosslink my thread, I just wanted to bring your attention to it. Thanks!
