Hey guys I'm new to this site, but i do own a ram, so heres the question
rate the difficulty level of converting a late 80's early 90's ram van to 4x4? i have access to all the parts i can get my hands on but how much work is it seriously going to be? not that that matters,

Dodge did have a 4x4 ram van back in the late 70s to mid-80s. It went by a certain name. On a scale of 1 easy to 10 very hard, it's a BIG 1 to find it and buy one!

The dodge vans which were 4x4's had a Quigley Conversion. The Quigley Site www.quigley4x4.com, lists as a service to their customers vehicles the customers are trying to sell. The used vehicles are listed under products.
The way the Quigley conversion is performed is with agreement of the manufacturer. The chassis is sent to Quigley for conversion, then returned to the manufacturer for the body to be placed and then sent out to the dealer for pickup.
The unofficial reason I heard they no longer do the conversion on Dodge vans is because the gas tank location was changed to a point that interfered with the way the conversion was done.
Your better bet would be to do a body swap onto a dodge 4x4 truck chassis. As allero mentioned neither way is particularly stright forward.
