ram van as solid as D100?
Hi folks It would be great if you could help a noobie out.
4 years I bought an '89 D100 that I figured had a little life left in it and it has proven impossible to kill. I drive down dirt roads at breakneck speeds with filthy oil in the crankcase and it still starts fine every morning.
My work scene is changing and I need a van. If I bought a Ram Van of similiar vintage would it be just as sturdy as the pickup? If not, what issues should I look for? I know enough to stick to a van with the 318. What else should I know?

Look everywhere for rust, especially from the "cab" back. Rear suspension can rust right out of the frame. Check the inside bottom of all the service doors for rust also. Don't discount the 3.9L V6 - it is a great engine and will drink a little less gas.
thanks for answering my real question. I was hoping the Ram Van was just a Ram frame with a big metal box on it. I'll definitely be buying one of these. They're going pretty cheap. I just hope the paint holds up a little better than my truck's.
