Default High speed misfire

My '99 Ram Van 1500 has a high speed misfire. When hill climbing at light throttle the vehicle bucks slightly. Sort of like a lean burn situation. Any one else notice this and have a fix?

Sounds like a fuel starvation issue. You will need to pressure test the fuel pump to confirm.

Could also mean worn rotor, cap, plugs or bad wires. Sounds like a good tune-up could get you squared away.

Usually high speed stumbles are a dirty fuel filter. Like alloro said "fuel starvation.
I had that problem with a 72 charger I have. Changed the fuel filter and problem gone. That's a lot more simpler car though.

Those are good suggestions. When getting a cap-n-rotor, make sure they are copper/brass contacts and not the cheap-o aluminum type.

Also, bad gas with water or other contaminates will cause your problems. How are the fuel injectors and when was the last time you burned high 93 octane 1/4 tank with fuel cleaner?

Why the high octane fuel with the cleaner?

Right now I am trying, and see how it works, the Lucas Fuel Cleaner. So far after about 300 miles on it the engine is running very smooth and even quiter on the highway. Tommorrow I will fill up the van and see what the current MPG is. I bought a gallon of it so that I can try it for the long run. One thing I like is that there is no alcohol in it. It also lubercates the fuel system and top end of the engine.
