Default 94 Dodge B150 shakes during acceleration

My B150 has 110,000 miles and the 5.2 liter engine. After a trip to Michigan, it started to shake when accerelating moderately. If I step on the gas the shaking stops.

What should I check?

Thanks

The drive shaft u-joints could be worn, or in need of grease.

Yep, I'd go with U joints first too cuz they're easy to check. You don't even had to jack it up, that's what I love about my 94 Dodge Van. Mine is kind of ugly but I love her just the same!

Set the parking brake and block the wheels so the van cannot roll. Then put the shifter into neutral and get under the van, at each u-joint grab the DS and try to move it up and down, side to side, while observing any movement between the 2 sides of the u-joints. If everything moves together as one piece you're all set. If you find any play in the u-joint, replace it.

When I just did the u-joints on my van, I didn't get much travel in either direction. Mine is a big one piece, and it's pretty heavy. I did get a good clunk when I kept my foot on the brake and shifted from reverse to drive. Mine was smoked too, no rollers left at all, no fluid of any kind and the caps were burnt and cracked.

Well, it ended up being bad spark plugs.

wow that was almost close advice. goes to show how not enough information and not being able to use one's senses of diagnosis to formulate the correct answer.

I had a gen3 minivan come to my shop with a 'bad' transmission. The dealer told them it would be $2200 for a new one. They came to me for the same job for $1200. However I couldn't screw them over. the van only needed new plugs and wires. Their complaint was it felt like it was 'slipping' on a hill. well it was really misfiring on a hill. I charged them $180 for complete tuneup (plugs, wires, air filter, oil change and vehicle safety inspection. The owner just about french kissed me.

The advice was dead on based on the symptoms provided. After the initial suggestion of u-joints being the possible cause, the OP never got back with any results. If he had, those here could've taken the diagnostic to the next step.

That of course is the difference between hands on and dealing with sketchy symptoms in a post. But you'll figure that out for yourself when you start posting advice that actually solves a problem here.
