When I had to replace the computer on my B2500 (V6) the symptoms seem somewhat similar to what you are experiencing.

Sometimes when you turned the key to start it, it would crank momentarily then completely stop. Second, (then getting to third or fourth) try it would crank and run. No codes showed during this. Eventually...after about a week of this...it wouldn't start at all and after checking everything else electrical...(no spark)...I ended up swapping the computer out with another I bought on e-bay for about $75.

Dodge seems to have a whole lotta different ECM's (PCM, ECU...I get so confused at times...) so it is important that the serial number of the unit you buy matches yours. The one thing to note is that the last two letters of the serial number reflect (as I understand it) the version of software the computer has. My original serial number ended in "370AC" and I replaced it with a "370AF"...seems to work just fine.

Took me several weeks though to find a "junkyard" one on e-bay at that price. There are other companies posting there who charge around $2-300 on an exchange basis.

I've heard that if you have an intermittent short in your wiring harness it can drive your computer wonky and eventually kill it.
