99 ram 1500 abs light/brake
I had the van in for this problem ABS/ and RED BRAKE dash light iluminated. they replaced the rear wheel sensor and around 300 miles later I have the lghts on again. the repair shop says the code is 66 which is an intermittant abs relay. This is only abs on the rear wheels and was wondering is this code correct? How can I check this relay and where is it? his response was to remove the bulbs. I hate these lights on all the time.
which one is this? i only see brake with a 40 amp fuse and I switched them with a heater blower one with no difference. If I remove the fuse from inside the van the light goes out but speedo does not work, I put that back in and the lights went out. I will see tomorrow morning what happens. Doe s driving distance have any effect. I only drive it 4 miles each way to work thru the winters and not at any speeds.
I suppose it could since the problem is intermittent. On a short trip the ignition might not be on long enough for the problem to show up.
the problem shows up instantly on the next start. Only when I put the fuse back in while running that the ligts went out. They were on again first start this morning. Is there a diagram that would show where this relay is. If I find it according to the Doddge dealer they can sell me a new one as they seem to be under 20 dollars. I will take the chance for so little. I need to know where to look.
Do you know if the D20 recall was ever done on the van? If you need the Recall notice i or alloro will have it. You may want to call your local dealer and give them vin number and find if it has been done.
no it has not been done as I have owned the van since new and it only has 43k miles. I will call the dealer now to inquire. Yes I would like the recal notice. My email is jm@thermal-tech.com. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I just checked my factory manual which is for a 2000 not a 1999. The manual says the main relay is internal to the CAB (Controller Anti-lock Brakes). Being a 2000, it could be different than your's but I doubt it. That being said, to fix your problem you would have to replace the CAB. The CAB is mounted to the ABS valve assembly under the battery.
