Default Ram 1500 3.9L always have short wheel base?

Hi all. I was looking at newer Ram 1500 vans. Can someone tell me if the 1500 with a 3.9L engine always has the shorter wheel base? Are they lacking power to pull a trailer with 2 motorcycles? Thanks

I have a 2000, 1500 V6 3.9L and it's the standard wheelbase. I've towed my two ATVs around without any issues on a double/tilt type trailer. In fact, every so often I have to look back just to make sure the trailer is still there, because it doesn't feel like I'm towing anything.

Being located in Montana, you might have more mountainous terrain than me. If you have a lot of mountains and hills, then you'd be better off with the V8.

i owned a 94 v6 1500. i also own dragontail trailers. i dont know what size motorcycles you are towing and what size trailer/enclosed etc. i can tell you that i used that van to move around empty trailers that were brand new (no bad brakes/bearings) anything over about 2000lbs (total weight) i knew it was back there. i switched to an 89 v8 (big mistake) but unless these are little dirt bikes on a open flat trailer get a V8

Thank you. We have both dirt bikes and street bikes @ 500+ lbs. I will stick with a V8 then.
