Blower Motor Issue?
I have a 2000 Ram Van 1500, 5.2L and I have been having off and on issues with the blower. I have gone through three resistors and just replaced the blowe switch on the dash with no real results. For awhile I had no blower response. I changed the resistor and I now have 3 of 4 settings for the blower (no high setting). What should I check or replace next and where is it located?
Thanks!!!!!!

If the original blower motor is still in the van it could be worn and drawing too much power. This could cause the resistor or the switch to heat up more than they're designed to.
How does the pigtail that plugs onto the resistor look? Does it appear charred, burnt, or melted in any way?

I too have had the problem of it only working on high so I thought I would get a resistor -- however, I can usually fix the problem by cleaning the connections on that pigtail you speak of.
So I thought maybe it's not the resistor because I read somewhere else that if the resistor goes, it's gone forever, no repair / cleaning will bring it back.
So could an older blower motor be drawing too much power and just causing trouble on that connection?

Yes, in fact there is an updated repair pigtail with larger wires. The original wires were too small and overheated, causing connection issues.

Well.....replaced the pigtail and still no high setting! Anyone have another suggestion or should I just replace the blower motor? Seems to me that if the blower motor runs on all other settings then that wouldn't be the problem....am I wrong??
Blower fan relay. Should find it on the top and right side of the HVAC box under the hood. Might try wacking it with a hammer though not to hard to see if it will reset and allow the blower to work on high. If it does reset and then even seems to work on the rest of the fan setting I would still recommend replacing it.
I have just the opposite problem, only high, the three lower settings do nothing. I just had a new engine put in, but it worked for a while. The fuses look fine. I do have a dangling ground strap in the area of the blower, but I can't figure out where it was attached. It's bolted to the fire wall, but I don't see any missing bolt or studs anywhere it would reach.
