My speedo cable on my 88 B150 was shot so I removed it and threw it away. It was badly frayed at the tranny end and wouldn't turn. Anyway, I went to Autozone and they ordered me the one that the book calls for. The problem is that the fitting at the tranny end is way too small. It will not screw onto the the cog because the threaded fitting at the end of the cable is actually smaller than the threaded part of the cog that its supposed to screw onto. Went to different parts places and all their books call for the same cable. What do I do now? Can I/should I change the cog itself in the tranny? Is that part even available? Please help
