Default missfire

I have a 1996 3.9 dodge ram van, recently had a new control modual fitted as one cyllinder stopped firing, this solved the problem, have fitted new rotor and cap new leads and platinum plugs, now 800 miles down the road 1 cylinder is not firing all the time, comes in and out depending on load, high revs mostly ok low torque problem, noticed one lead was sprarking out at plug end to the shield so replaced that plug and lead. only slight improvment......any ideas guys

These engine don't seem to work well with the platinum plugs. Also, try the plug wire routing procedure in this TSB.

Yes, sorry, spark plug wires, i'm a brit so sometimes forget to clarify things, Had purchased economy wires from NAPA for $15 but not up to the job, lasted 2000 miles.
Paid $30 for new set, i hope they last longer.
