Yes.

The fan controller may not have the ability to switch from low to high where adding this relay after the controller does. So bring the wire from the controller to the fan to Post 30 and as Alloro said put the fans low speed to Pin 87a and high speed to pin 87. Ground pin pin 85 to the chassis and add a wire between the AC compressor clutch positive side and Pin 86 of the relay. Wire up the e-fan controller as per its instructions and you will be set.

OK just one more question (hopefully). The only thing I have left of concern is that I have to tie one of the controller wires into an ignition source. Only thing is I have no idea what to tap into... any suggestions?

No it's not brilliant, it's genius.

If it's a low power draw tap, you can use the +12v wire going to the ignition coil or the injectors.

Open up the PDC under the hood with the battery disconnected of course and find the ASD relay and its Pin 86. This will be hot with the key on and you can tie into it and power up the controller.

Just keep one thing in mind. With this new setup, when the coolant sensor turns off so will the fan, even with the A/C on. This is because the output wire from the controller goes dead. If this is a problem for you, it can be overcome with the addition of one more relay. If you choose to do it, let me know and I'll post the wiring steps.

Most definitely. I want that fan going whenever the AC is running regardless of the coolant sensor.

Of course part of me can't help but wonder if it's even worth doing all this for the high speed

The ASD relay pins are numbered slightly differently. There are numbered 1,2,3,4,5.... so I guess I'll have to figure out which one is hot

Nevermind... 86 is 2... just had to check out the relay a bit further.

So when the A/C is off the fan will operate at low speed and be controlled automatically by the coolant temperature sensor. When the A/C is turned on, the fan will automatically switch over and run on high continuously until the A/C or the ignition is turned off. I didn't show all of the fan controller wiring or the fuse, so install those where necessary.

Here's the drawing...
