So when the A/C is off the fan will operate at low speed and be controlled automatically by the coolant temperature sensor. When the A/C is turned on, the fan will automatically switch over and run on high continuously until the A/C or the ignition is turned off. I didn't show all of the fan controller wiring or the fuse, so install those where necessary.

All went well on the first test drive... only thing was that after I got home and shut the van off the fan continued to run for about another minute or two... is that normal or did I screw something up in the wiring?

Check the paperwork that came with the controller, it may have a built in timer and if so then this is fine. Other wise you may find that the controller has power to it even with the ignition turned off, if so find a better key on only source to power the controller.

I suspect this is going to be the case, otherwise there would be no need for a fan controller, only a relay turned on and off by the CTS.

Well, as long as the fan running for a minute or two after I shut off the van is not going to cause any problems then I'm just not going to worry about it
Based on what I'm reading I'm not sure if this thing has a built in timer because it tells you to tap into an always hot lead in order to have the fan run when the ignition is off. I must have done that (or it's just how it's going to work because I've set it up with the 2 extra relays)... oh well.. that part was a pain in the **** and I'm not sure I'm willing to relocate that lead at this point

Well I must say I'm quite pleased with the results. Cooling system works just as well as it did before, but now without it feeling like I'm dragging 3 tons of bricks behind my van on a hot day. I'm a tad **** so I'm getting a wee bit annoyed with the fan running after I shut the van off, but I'll just have to learn to live with it I suppose

Perish the thought!
Rip the fan controller out and replace it with a relay. Wire the CTS to one side of the relay coil and an ignition wire to the other side. Then run the battery wire to 30 and 87 becomes your output. Now when the ignition is turned off, there's no power to energize the relay.

Yes, unless the controller has some means to allow you to eliminate the timer.
