Do you mind me asking why you dislike the clicker style torque wrench?
Is it a personal preference or does one seem to do a better job at this application?

I'll hopefully get a chance to pick up a wrench this weekend but won't likely have a chance to adjust the bands till next weekend if I'm even able to get to it then.

Luckily the van isn't a daily driver so I don't need to jump on it right away.

I'm only on page 3 in my "to do" book and this falls somewhere in chapter 6 as far as immediate priority goes.

I don't dislike them at all. They are just not the correct tool to obtain proper accuracy for this type of adjustment.
